Help us shape the future of Swan Hill’s Central Business Precinct

The Swan Hill Central Business Precinct Masterplan will guide how the city centre grows and improves over time. It aims to create better public spaces, support local business and activity, and strengthen what makes Swan Hill unique. The plan will build on past work, community ideas, and expert input to help keep the CBD welcoming and resilient.

As the heart of the town, this area is a key focus for new activity, better links to the riverfront and showgrounds, and upgrades to streets and open spaces. We want to hear from everyone who lives, works, visits, or invests in Swan Hill.

Project Timeline + Key Dates

  • This stage involved early project work, including site analysis and background studies, completed before community engagement began.

  • We are now engaging with the community to hear your ideas, needs, and aspirations. This is the first major opportunity for public input and will help guide the direction of the Master Plan.

    Your input will help shape the future of the Master Plan and ensure it reflects the community’s voice..

  • We bring together what we’ve learned from early analysis and community feedback to identify key project objectives and guiding principles. This helps shape the initial framework for the Master Plan and ensures a wide range of views are considered..

  • The agreed preliminary concept is developed into a Draft Master Plan. This draft sets out proposed ideas, strategies and design approaches and is shared for community review and feedback.

    Community involvement includes:

    • Public review of the Draft Master Plan

    • Providing feedback through online platforms

  • We refine and finalise the Master Plan based on community feedback. The final document sets out clear actions, priorities and next steps, and is prepared for Council approval and delivery.

    This marks the formal completion of the project.

Project Update

Community engagement for the Swan Hill Central Precinct Masterplan is continuing. An online survey will be launching soon, providing an opportunity to share your ideas and feedback.

We are also planning in-person consultation sessions on Friday 20 February and Saturday 21 February.
